Overall Review of Piece Set :
We’ve been using this set of colored knives for a while and it’s cut well for us.
Over time the blades have begun to become dull knives. The disappointment come from the knives paint flaking. For the price it’s a good knife set (it’s hard to find a set this affordable). But to be fair we put the knives in the dishwasher and that could be the reason for the paint beginning to flake a bit.
Another thing is it really is a 5 piece knife set, calling it 10 pieces because of the knife covers is industry practice I guess, but I find it misleading.
Still you buy these knives because they look cool and are fun. Still it would have been nice to have a steak knives with the set or some single knife choices, like a bread knife.
The knives themselves are pretty good, especially for the price. The blade guard on the handle makes it easy to hold and our kids are able to use them fairly well.
Are Tomodachi knives dishwasher safe?
They are dishwasher safe, but it is best to hand wash any type of knife and immediately dry it to avoid rust and corrosion. If you want your knives to last longer always hand wash them.

Are Tomodachi knives good?
We’ve been using the earlier brand of these kitchen knives (they are solid color rather than rainbow) for a year now and they have held up really well.
They each come with their individual sheath and as far as normal knives go they do the trick. There is no chef knife or bread knife, which would have been useful, but the all purpose knife is designed to make up for it.
If you are looking for an affordable and fun looking set of knives. These ones fit the bill. It’s a quick and easy way to refresh your knife drawer.
