Overall Review of the Calphalon Contemporary SharpIN Nonstick 13 Piece Set:

The self-sharpening feature of this knife block is nice for anyone who is new to kitchen knives and trying to sharpen them. This 13 piece set has everything you would want in a knife set. It’s aesthetically pleasing and has everything you would need to get the job done in the kitchen.

There are enough steak knives for most families, and the knives included in this set will suffice for most home cooks. This is a well-priced Calphalon knife set.

As far as a well-rounded knife set, this one has everything you would like. I love that the knife ends are labeled, and they would be a good household items addition to your kitchen, and they are a decent price point. My two concerns are the Asian steel and that they are stamped steel knives. Personally, I would go up a little higher and get something that is forged like what we saw in our Dalstrong knife review.

Overall Review of the Calphalon Classic Self-Sharpening 15 Piece Set:

This knife has a lot of good knives, except it’s missing the bread knife. This may not be a deal-breaker for you, but for me, it was a no-go. It does have an a6 inch serrated knife that can do the trick of a bread knife, but I would prefer to have a full-size bread knife.

The reviews are largely positive on this knife set. It gets a 4.6 out of 5 (read the write-ups here), and the triple-riveted handles (they are stainless steel rivets) are a nice addition to a well-formed handle. If you already have a bread knife, or you are just avoiding bread, this may be a great knife set.

Overall Review of the Calphalon Classic Self-sharpening 6-piece Set :

If you like the look of the Calphalon self-sharpening knives but don’t need the steak knives and can do without a bread knife. Then this is a nice set at a more modest price. These knives are forged, so they are considered more durable and of better quality than other knives in this article.  What strikes me is how many reviews this set has compared to other sets, and it comes with a solid 4.6 out of 5 (see them all here).

If you are looking for a smaller set of Calphalon knives, these are a good set to buy.

Overall Review of the Calphalon Precision Self-sharpening 15-piece Knife Block Set, with SharpIn TechnologyPiece Set :

This is a nice-looking set of knives. I love the 8 steak knives, and it has every knife that our family would need. The design is what really grabs me with this set of knives. The handle is a nice look, and the bar riveted handle is a modern look.

This knife set is more expensive than some of the other blocks, but it is of higher quality with the German steel on the larger knives. We would have liked to see the same steel on the steak knives, but that would have likely raised the price substantially, so we get the reason for the trade-off.

If you are looking for a good set of knives that offer what you need and enough steak knives for having company over, this is a great set. With over 200 ratings and a 4.7 out of 5 (read them here), this set would be a sharp addition to your kitchen essentials.

Overall Review of the Calphalon Katana Cutlery 14 Piece Knife Set:

Calphalon is swinging for the fences with this unique-looking knife set. It has most of what you need. Though this is the one knife set in this article that doesn’t have a self-sharpening block, it does come with VG-1 Japanese steel, and they are a beautiful set of knives. We recommend getting the 18-piece set as it has more steak knives and a bread knife as well.

This set is the crown jewel of the Calphalon knife sets. It has everything you would need and more. This the set you get if you want a great set that is versatile and functional.

Final Thoughts on our Calphalon Knives Review

Calphalon knives may not be the first name that comes to mind when it comes to kitchen knives, but they deserve to be mentioned. They make a range of good quality knives and back them with a lifetime warranty. Showing that they are willing to stand behind their product.

If you are looking for high-quality knives, I recommend reading our Wusthof knives review or the Cangshan knives review. Both of them have a slightly higher quality knife. Another good one to read is our Miyabi knives review if you prefer a Japanese-style knife.
